Easy Read

How does it work?

This page is written in Easy Read English, with short sentences and simple words.

We come to your facility with a special bike. This bike is called the OuiCycle. You have nothing to buy and nothing to organise. We take care of the bike, the driver and the ride.

01

The bike comes to you

  • We bring the bike to you for half a day.
  • Each ride lasts 30 minutes. Three people ride the bike.
  • In half a day, 12 to 15 residents can use the bike.
  • A trained driver rides the bike and leads the ride.
  • We plan the route with your team. We stay with you before, during and after the ride.
02

The bike is comfortable and safe

  • The bike has an electric motor that helps it move.
  • It goes 25 kilometres per hour at most. It rides on the road and on cycle paths.
  • There are 4 separate sets of pedals. You pedal as much as you can. This does not change the speed of the bike.
  • The seats lean back. You sit well and you are held safely.
  • The bike is easy to see on the road and on cycle paths.
03

What happens during a session?

  • Step 1, from 1:45 pm to 2:00 pm: the driver talks with the care team about the people who are going out.
  • Step 2, from 2:00 pm to 2:15 pm: the driver explains the route, everyone chooses a seat, and the seat belts are checked.
  • Step 3, from 2:15 pm to 3:45 pm: everyone pedals at their own pace or lets the motor do the work, and you talk together along the way.
  • Step 4, from 3:45 pm to 4:00 pm: the driver tells the team about the ride and writes down what he saw for each person.
04

We measure what the ride brings

  • A sensor on each set of pedals measures how hard your legs work.
  • A wristband measures your heart beats and your movements.
  • After the ride, everyone answers questions about how they feel.
  • All these measurements are kept together on a private website.
  • We give the results to the doctor, to the managers and to the people who pay for the service.
05

What the ride changes for residents

  • Each ride does good in 4 ways.
  • The body moves: with 4 separate sets of pedals, everyone pedals at their own pace.
  • The mind works: talking and passing by places you know makes your memory work.
  • You feel better: being with other people creates bonds and gives you confidence again.
  • The senses wake up: you hear the sounds, you see the light, you breathe the fresh air outside.

A different way to move.

We provide your facility with the OuiCycle by half-days, in rides of 30 minutes.

Per ride: 3 beneficiaries on board.
Per session: 12 to 15 residents benefit from it.

How?

  • A trained driver-facilitator leads the session
  • The route is co-designed with your team
  • Support before, during and after

Comfort & safety: we have thought of everything.

01

Electric-assist bicycle

Top speed 25 km/h, on roads and cycle paths.

02

Four independent pedal sets

Each beneficiary pedals to their own ability, with no effect on the vehicle's speed.

03

Ergonomic seats

A recumbent position for optimal support.

04

Excellent visibility

The vehicle stays clearly visible on cycle paths and roads.

Julien, founder of OuiCycle, explains how the vehicle works to a beneficiary seated on board.

How does a session unfold?

  1. Step 1: 1. Preparation

    1:45 → 2:00 pm

The driver-facilitator talks with the care team about the beneficiaries taking part.

  2. Step 2: 2. Welcome & transfer

    2:00 → 2:15 pm

The route is introduced to the beneficiaries. Each person chooses their seat, and seatbelts and supports are checked.

  3. Step 3: 3. Route

    2:15 → 3:45 pm

Each person pedals at their own pace or lets the electric assistance carry them along. The ride alternates pedalling and conversation.

  4. Step 4: 4. Review & debrief

    3:45 → 4:00 pm

The facilitator debriefs the team on the session. They log the indicators and fill in the beneficiary record in the tracking platform.

Impact measured, in full transparency.

Reporting on the benefits for your beneficiaries is how we ensure continuity with the work of your teams. Together,
let's develop new forms of adapted physical activity.

What makes the difference for your residents.

A resident raises her hands with joy on board the OuiCycle.

Every outing works on 4 dimensions:

Motor

Thanks to the 4 independent pedal sets, everyone pedals at their own pace.

Cognitive

Talking and passing by familiar places stimulates memory.

Sensory

Sounds, light, fresh air: the environment takes centre stage again.
