How do you fund the service?
This page is written in Easy Read English, with short sentences and simple words.
Our service has a cost: it pays for the bicycle, the upkeep and the driver. But the facility almost never pays alone. Several public and private supports exist, and they often add up. On this page we list the main aids you can use.
The facility takes part in the cost
- Your facility can pay with its activity budget or its care budget.
- The price is between 175 and 250 euros per session.
- You can choose a pay-per-ride option or a half-day subscription.
Public funding you can use
- The APA helps older people who have lost some autonomy.
- Local Funding Conferences (Conférences des financeurs) support prevention of loss of autonomy.
- Health agencies (ARS) and the CNSA often fund new health projects.
Sponsorship from companies
- A company can fund part of the service. This is called sponsorship.
- Sponsorship lets the company pay less corporate tax.
- Private foundations also support useful projects.
- We help you find the right partners close to your facility.
Our role
- We do not write your funding application for you.
- But we point you to the aids and the schemes that exist.
- Our service meets many criteria that funders look for: health, social bonds, ecology, inclusion, local jobs.

Talk to our teamFunding, a prerequisite for the decision
No matter how relevant a programme is, it can only be deployed if it can be funded. Les Roues Solidaires has been designed to draw on existing public funding schemes. Several levers, often combinable, can cover all or part of the cost of the service.
APA · CNSA · ARS · funders' conference · privateOur added value when building your application
Les Roues Solidaires lets you demonstrate and measure the impact delivered to your beneficiaries, which strengthens applications for financial support and helps reduce costs. The benefits delivered - environmental usefulness, accessibility, inclusion, social bonds, meaningful and non-relocatable jobs - tick a wide range of criteria sought by many calls for projects, prizes and schemes: from public institutions, mutual insurers, insurance companies and participatory budgets run by local authorities.

A map of the levers you can mobilise
Here are the main public and private schemes we mobilise with our partners to fund the solution. Most of them can be combined; the right mix depends on your type of facility and your territory.
Institutional public funding
The recurring schemes run by the State, regional health agencies and regional councils. The funding bedrock, accessible on eligibility.
- APA - Personalised Autonomy Allowance
- When prescribed by a psychomotor therapist, cyclo-therapy can be included in the support plan of an APA recipient, in replacement of or in addition to other support services.
- CNSA - National Solidarity Fund for Autonomy
- Calls for projects on medico-social innovation and Sections IV/V. Several funding lines can support deployment.
- ARS - Regional Health Agencies
- Co-funding of up to 50% available for schemes recognised as innovative, via the FIR (Regional Intervention Fund) and regional programmes.
Calls for projects & collective schemes
Competitive programmes, European funds and calls for projects: opportunities to seize as calendars open up, often well-resourced and structuring.
- Departmental funders' conferences
- Within the scope of preventing loss of autonomy, departmental funders' conferences fund collective actions for seniors. Our programme fits squarely within this framework.
- Calls for projects, prizes, mutual insurers & insurance companies
- Many calls for projects and prizes - run by public institutions, mutual insurers, insurance companies and pension funds - reward programmes combining health, inclusion, the ecological transition and social bonds. Les Roues Solidaires ticks every one of those boxes.
Private & participatory engagement
Private foundations and participatory budgets: complementary levers to kickstart a project or fund its extension.
- Private foundations
- Fondation de France, hospital foundations and pension funds; foundations dedicated to solidarity or disability.
- Participatory budgets run by local authorities
- Municipal, departmental or regional participatory budgets: residents or elected officials can put forward cyclo-therapy as a public-interest project serving seniors, people with disabilities or territorial cohesion.
